Sunset panorama looking South East to North West from the West slope of Mt Mendel, with Darwin Bench peaking out around the corner just above tree line at far right, approx half a mile above the John Muir Trail, which enters Evolution Valley at far center right, passes through McLure Meadow visible as a backwards C shape, continues on up valley to it's head beneath towering Hermit peak at center, and finally winds up and glancingly along the left shore of long twisting Evolution Lake at left before S curving far back right around pointy black Mt Huxley through Evolution Basin to Muir Pass behind it.
