About a mile and a half E of the JMT at mile 99. Right to left is Three island Lake, Flat Note lake, Medley Lake (the widespread tangle of narrow water bodies at center, Sandpiper Lake, Lou Beverly Lake on the forested bench, and Bear Creek canyon, the route of the JMT before it passes up behind the ridge at left to Marie Lake and Seldon Pass. Center is Seven Gables. California, Sierra Nevada mountains, John Muir Wilderness. Off the John Muir Trail near Mile 098.
